AutoCAD Training for Beginners, Level 1- Stage 1
AutoCAD Training for Intermediate Users, Level 1- Stage 2

Aims

Our courses are aimed at business users and individuals who need to be able to start using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT as quickly as possible. Our Level 1 – Stage 1 is aimed at people who are new to AutoCAD and/or migrating from other CAD software packages. At the end of the course all delegates will be able to use the core elements of AutoCAD that will allow you to be able to produce a drawing to quite a high level of detail.

What to expect

The Level 1 - Stage 1 course, is a three day course and covers over 200 commands, concepts and settings and comes with a 455 page manual, with over 350 full colour illustrations, that is yours to keep. We also do up to 60 practice exercises during the course.  We will train you on the version of AutoCAD that you have in your own office (e.g. LT 2007, 2009 full version etc.)  and we also offer a 12 month free post course telephone helpline. The instructor is an Apprentice trained draughtsman with 25 years of CAD experience and 27 years draughting experience.

Level 1 - Stage 2 is a 2 day course that we used to run. However the first day of this course has now been incorporated into Level 1 Stage 2 and the Second day overlaps with our advanced Level 2 course. We therefore only run this course on demand.

Exceptions

Although the user will have a good grasp of how to produce an AutoCAD drawing, not all functions are covered in this course. For a full list of these commands see our level 2 training course

Experience

No Previous CAD Experience required, but all delegates MUST be computer literature and be able to use Microsoft Windows to an average standard; otherwise they will not be able to complete this course and will hold up any other delegates attending.

Duration and Dates

3 days for Level 1 Stage 1 and/or  2 days for Level 1 - Stage 2. We only recommend doing Stage 1 but delegates that are IT literate may wish to do Stage 2 to gain a thorough understanding. Our 3 day Level 1 - Stage 1 course commences on the last Wednesday of each month.

Maximum numbers

We limit all of our courses to just five attendees which enables all the delegates to have “quality” time with the instructor should they have trouble with certain aspects of AutoCAD. We can also offer "One to One" training as well as limiting the number of places for a single company only.

Location

Courses take place at our Clacton-On-Sea (NE Essex) offices where we have all the facilities, PC's & Software configured and tailored to compliment our training courseware. Another benefit of training away from the office is that you do not get continual interruptions and telephone calls from colleagues requesting so called urgent or quick errands. We occasionally run courses in London or at your premises, however these do incur surcharges for additional costs to us.e.g. room hire and travel.

After the course

You will be expected to practice you new skills frequently, if you are not intending to use AutoCAD daily we recommend spending a minimum of 5 hours per week practising. We provide extensive practice and project exercises with your manuals to enable you to do this. If you do not practice you will quickly loose your new skills.
