Detailed Description
Aims
Our Level 1 Beginners and Level 2 Intermediate courses focus on the basic tools to create a drawing. The Level 3 Advanced course is the final course that we offer in 2D and strives to make the student more proficient in AutoCAD. This is done by teaching you how to recognise the best tool for the task, the best way to use that tool and how to create new tools to accomplich tasks more efficiently. The course includes the following topics.
Advanced Text Objects
Working with Advanced Table Features
Defining Dynamic Blocks and Attributes
Outputting and Publishing files for review
Managing Layers
CAD Management and System Setup
Enhancing Productivity by Customising the AutoCAD Interface
Using Macros and Custom Routines
What to expect
The Level 3 Advanced course is a three day course (2 days for LT) and covers over 200 commands, concepts and settings. It comes with a
350 page AutoCAD Approved manual, with over 330 full colour illustrations. An electronic pdf manual is included in the price, printed manuals are available for a small fee. A sample of this manual can be found by
clicking on this link.
We also do many practice exercises during the course to help you practically use the software. We will train you on the version of AutoCAD that you have in your own office (e.g. LT 2010, 2012 full version etc.) and we also offer a 12 month free post course telephone helpline. The instructor is an AutoCAD Certified Professional and Associate, as well as an apprentice trained draughtsman with 25 years of CAD experience and 27 years draughting experience.
Qualifications
We are currently in the process of obtaining accreditation for our courses with the OCN Eastern Region with a view to providing
accredited courses. Please contact us specifically if this is something that you are interested in. Further details Select "
CAD Qualifications" from the CAD Training drop down list at the top of this page. If you decide not to take the qualification you will still receive an attendance certificate.
Experience
All delegates must have either attended one of our Level 1 Beginners courses and be a frequent user of AutoCAD OR be a regular user of AutoCAD, using and uderstanding its basic features. You do NOT have to attend our intermediate class to attend this course, you can jump straight from Level 1 to Level 3. If you do the qualification for this level it does not make you eligible for the Level 2 qualification, you will still have to complete that course. We do have a questionnaire that we can e-mail to you if you are in any doubt of your ability.
Duration and Dates
This a three day course, however AutoCAD LT does not have a lot of the commands on this course. We have therefore tailored this course so that LT users can attend (and just pay for) for 2 days. They can of course attend for 3 days if they wish to so that they can learn the commands if they wish to upgrade in the future. Those doing the qualification must attend all three days even if they are an LT user.
We run this course twice per year upon demand. 1 to 1 courses can be arranged at any mutually convenient dates.
Maximum numbers
We limit all of our courses to just five attendees which enables all the delegates to have “quality” time with the instructor should they have trouble with certain aspects of AutoCAD. We can also offer "One to One" training as well as limiting the number of places for a single company only.
Location
Courses take place at our Clacton-On-Sea (NE Essex) offices where we have all the facilities, PC's & Software configured and tailored to compliment our training courseware. Another benefit of training away from the office is that you do not get continual interruptions and telephone calls from colleagues requesting so called urgent or quick errands. We occasionally run courses in London or at your premises, however these do incur surcharges for additional costs to us e.g. room hire and travel.
What's included
All our courses include materials, refreshments and a pub lunch within the price. Lunch is not provided on our 1/2 day courses.
After the course
You will be expected to practice your new skills frequently, it is very easy to slip back into creating/ editing drawings using the methods that you are used to, however force yourself to use your new skills. If you are not intending to use AutoCAD daily we recommend spending a minimum of 3 hours per week practising. We provide extensive practice and project exercises with your manuals to enable you to do this. If you do not practice you could quickly lose your new skills.
